MISSION AND GOALS

Mission Statement

The mission of NYDDI is to prepare entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists with skills allowing them to provide quality, efficacious services to the public.

Goal #1 – Prepare graduates to be fully prepared entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists.

At least 80% of program students complete program/degree requirements within 12 months (150% of the program length).
80% of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
When surveyed, 80% of employers will respond with a 3 or higher on a 5 point rating scale when questioned about a graduate’s preparation for entry-level practice.
When surveyed, at least 75% of graduates will indicate they feel prepared for entry-level practice.

Goal #2 – The program will prepare graduates to deliver quality services to the public.

Of graduates who seek employment, 75% are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
When surveyed, a minimum of 75% of employers will respond with a 3 or higher on a 5-point rating scale that program graduates deliver quality care to the public.

NYDDI periodically evaluates the achievement of our mission, goals, and objectives. We collect data to identify the efficacy and areas for improvement.
